Can a parking warden park in single yellow line in a cycle lane?
Hi I got a ticket from one of those camera cars (i saw stopped in a junction box) but they were parked on a yellow line in a cycle lane is this legal?
A lot of councils do this nowadays, it's a disgrace! One rule for them, another rule for everyone else. It makes me so angry, it's not surprising that parking wardens (or "Civil Enforcement Officers" as they are now called) get no respect from the public.
Near me there is a Smart Car that is fitted with CCTV and it parks on a double yellow line (near a corner) to issue tickets to vehicles turning right (where there is a no right turn sign). The council says this is perfectly legal becuase they have given the vehicle permission to park on yellow lines. I thought yellow lines were put there for a reason? How can the council say it's safe and fair to allow their own vehicle to park where other vehicles can't? If it's safe for the council vehicle to park there, surely it's also safe for everyone else to park there and the yellow lines should be removed.

Anyway, sorry to go on, it just makes my blood boil.
As for your ticket for a "moving traffic contravention", the council will probably say the camera car has permission to park where it did but don't let that put you off appealing. I appeal all parking tickets and moving traffic contraventions, and guess what, I nearly always get off.
Go to http://forums.pepipoo.com and post details of your ticket. There are loads of people there that are experts at this stuff and they will probably find a loophole to get you off (maybe there is incorrect wording on the ticket or maybe the box junction is the wrong size). Play the council at their own game. If they have made a mistake, your ticket is invalid (but the council won't tell you this, they hope you won't notice).
