I am 16 i play anywhere on the infeild except catcher and first. I lead off have a batting average of .573 at the varsety level, started every game. had one of the highest on base % in the state. As a freshman mind u. I pitched a few games to inclued a 3.2 inning no hitter in the playoffs it was good till i gave up a two run jack after a walk, i throw a fastball at 80, a palmball, sinker, and forkball that is pritty nice. Was a starter on the 16 year old Co. state baseball all-star team, went to regonals lost. I have a sure golve and normaly play third base. i dont normaly hit for power only two homeruns, but i have won games with a bunt here and there a base hit or steals not lightspeed but ok 4.8 . This past fall i tore my acl i am better now but still dont have an acl. i am a right hander and its my right knee. What are my chances of playing for a good Collage team? and should i get the surgery to get one now or after the season is over.
The ACL is nothing to mess with. It will take you a year to return to form after surgery and no D1 college team is going to take you without a healthy knee.
Have your parents find the best Orthopedic surgeon in your area and get a consultation. They will take an MRI of the knee, tell you the damage and what they can/cannot do to fix it. IF you get the surgery now you will be back for next season. If you are a soph, that should be fine, you have 2 more seasons. IF you are a Jr, you might want to wait unless the knee is really bad. Waiting could ruin the knee permanently.
