What bait and fishing styles should i use to catch walleye?
I am going to be fishing in a lake.
It is in michigan and the lake is in Kalkaska county. The name is Manistee lake.
I mostly use jigs with live minnows, or spinner rigs with minnows, worms or leeches. Work along steep dropp offs, edges of weedbeds and wind swept points (windy days are good). The best spots include all three of these. The actively feeding fish will be shallow 5-12ft., but never far from deeper water. In the dog days of summer, they move into deeper holes and structures but still make feeding frenzy trips to the shallows as well. Find a school and work it because the bite might only be on for an hour until they slip back into the depths.
