Strong Monofilament
Does Braided line keep it's strength after several uses?
I have a reel with fairly new braid on it, I 've taken it out for a spin 3 or 4 times this year and done some catchin'. The coating on most of the line is gone and the color is now a light green. It seems like the line is strong still but that little fish on my shoulder says, " I'll pop that line quick." I'm more of a monofilament type of guy and could use your advice on whether to boot the line and re-fill or what? Thanks in advance.~good luck catchin'.
I've only used braided line ONCE, burnt the sh*t out of my thumb on the cast, reeled my lure back in and put the rod away. After I got home, I stripped the braid off and tossed it, spooled mono back onto the reel and no way in all hell am I going to use braid again.
As far as knowing if it holds its strength after several uses, I would think so. It's braid after all and its not supposed to rot.
