Stren Fluorocarbon
which type of line?
i am going to restring my reels soon and i am not sure which type of line i should use i have always used stren classic mono but now i want to try out braid or fluorocarbon. what are the pros and cons of each i would like to spool some reels with each but i dont have the money so what line should i use any brands and what pound?
Do you have a local tackle shop that carries bulk spools of the lines you like just have then strip off a 100 yards and respool new line on the old line as backing.
Both have their good n bads with knots!
Braid can be a hassle with small diameters with spool over run.Braid not the best when it comes to line shy fish.Old braid is just that old and weak proper care will make it last very long.!Strong gives good feel no to zero stretch!
Fluorocarbon is not needed as full spool of line but can be used with no ill effect.Spools well,good feel,great for line shy fish!
I use berkley fireline and spider braids and my monos I use berkley fluorocarbon!
Depending on what and how you fish this will determine the test line you need.General use line weights 8 to 12 lb fluoro and 12 to 20 lb in braid!This cover uses for smaller fish and for some big bass and catfish as I said this is a general use setup!!
