Spool Blue
Trouble shutting down win98?
Get a blue fatal exception screen. Caught a brief glimpse of a trouble box that said "spool 32 - program performed illegal op and will close down". I think it's related to printers. I have 2, a dot matrix pin feed for business and an ink jet for everything else. Dot matrix is the default printer, but if I use the ink jet I get the "illegal op" window (the ink jet is usb). Am I having a conflict problem. What can I do to correct this problem? Thanks.
Yeah, spool32.exe is the application in Windows 98 and Me which handles spooling data from Windows to a physical printer so it's definitely a printer issue here. As someone else suggested, as a first pass I'd completely uninstall all your printers and printer drivers and set them up from scratch, there's a good chance that'll fix it.
