Sinkers Size
I'm not quite sure what I am asking really...?

I went fishing yesterday, in a private pond. There are sun perches, blue gill, and one VERY big catfish in the pond. The pond is maybe 1000-2000 ft across, and half that in width. Anyways, everyone caught 5-11 fish. My cousin, and I however caught 0. I usually catch the most. I have a medium bobber, one large sinker, and one small sinker on my line with an average size hook. I was using the traditional night crawler. I tried fishing without a bobber too. I got bites, but none took the hook. Just played with it. I slide the worm on. Not in straight. I just put one end on, and keep over lapping it until the hook is hidden. My Dad caught 11 with a worm, and two sinkers. That is what I had. Why didn't my cousin, and I catch any fish? The one Catfish kept jumping. He bit someones hook, but he snapped off the line all the way up to the bobber. He took her sinkers, bobber, hook, and worm.

Location and depth is everything. Even with ideal bait and technique, if the fish are feeding at 20 feet and your line is floating at 10 feet, you might miss them!

Was your dad's line length to the bobber longer? Shorter? Was he casting at the same distance and location, or was he further/closer and more in a shady area near a rock or brush? (most fish like structure).
