If your are allergic to Chicken, Turkey, most fish and shellfish, is it safe to take the Anthrax shot?
I'm deploying to either Iraq or Afganistan in the next 2 weeks and need to know if being allergic to chicken, turkey, most fish and shellfish would justify me NOT being able to receive the series of Anthrax shots? I really need to know if being allergic to these foods and receiving this shot would put me at higher chance for serious health problems. Is this a greater health risk because of my allergies?????
Seeing how Anthrax is "Mad Cow Disease." What does being allergic to chicken have any thing to do with it. Small Pox of the flu vaccination on the other hand has something to do with poultry. If they give you a choice to get the series of hots, don't get them. Think about it, the shot only protects you from absorbing Anthrax through you skin; if you breathe it in, you're doomed. So getting this series of shots is like you being a lab rat for the government.
