Why is my pictures not sharp?
I'm using a Nikon D3000 camera and the add-on Bower .42x Fish-eye lens I just bought is not producing sharp images! Are all add-on fish-eyes poor quality?

That's right.
The add-on lens adapters are great fun and produce an interesting effect...but pin-sharp, they're not.
That's why Nikon can still sell this for 15 times the price...for people who want fisheye perfection...

BTW you'll get the best from the adapter if you use a smaller aperture.
