Slip Sinker Rig with worms?

ok so i am setting up a slip sinker rig.. an egg sinker, then swivel, then a leader, then im attaching another leader below it so i have two hooks.. my question is... can i use worms with a slip sinker rig? or what kind of rig should i use for fishing off a dock with worms?
i know powerbait floats, but since im using worms, and the sinker will be on the bottom, will the worms just be resting at the bottom.. so should i set up a bobber rigg or something,, or what kid of stationary rig should i use?

There are a couple of ways to go about this. With the rig you are describing, I would use a "worm blower" to inject some air into the worm so it floats a bit off the bottom.

You can also thread a small chunk of styrofoam onto the line above the hook to do the same thing.

Another rig I use has the sinker at the very bottom with a couple of hooks positioned above it attached to the leader. You can use a "three way" swivel for this.
