student rewards for standardized test scores?
Do you think that students who score advanced, mastery, and basic in two parts (Language and Math) of the standardized tests be rewarded? That would leave students who score approaching basic and unsatisfactory scores being singled out. Are student performance results confidential? Should a stranger to the school be able to point out which students scored 2 basics in the 2 major core subjects?
My complaint: at my son's junior high school, they wear uniforms: khaki pants/shorts and blue or white polo style shirts. As a reward for the students who scored 2 basics in math and language, they were able to wear jeans for 1 week. Meanwhile, my son, who remarkably improved his score 47 points from an unsatisfactory to an approaching basic is in school uniform. Every student or visitor to the school, can pick out which students have scored 2 basics on the test. I think this is a form of a breech of confidentialty. Student records are confidential, right? What do you think about

Although I'm not sure what kind of standardized test you're talking about
although if it's like STAR testing or the CAHSEE, then those tests aren't as difficult
but if you're talking about something as hard as AP tests, then they should get free wardrobes, lol
and in any case, rewards shouldn't be that tangible
is the rule about uniforms really such a big thing at his school?
