Hooks Aberdeen
snelled aberdeen hook sizes and the fish their used for?
my brother told me to buy some of the hooks used on the line used to be attatched to a swivel and some are really small and 1 biggest one is a good size (could hold a 2lb bass) 3 different hooks and im wondering if you have a link or website that explain which each size hook is used for?

Aberdeen's have been around forever, and were supposedly used by longliners in the UK port of aberdeen. Their wire hook straight shank would bend and served their purpose well.
today we use them for lots of different things, some are designed with a 90 deg. bend right off the eyelet and are used for jigs, most straight shank apps. are for worms. Here on the west coast, we use them with the berkley baits in the surf for perch and what-not.
Depending on what brand, they can straighten out pretty easy, so keep that in mind when you use these hooks.
to specifically answer what each hook size is for is rather tough, because we don't know exactly what size you have, and what fish are available for you to use them on.
