what is the best way to rig a squid jig?
just brought a fishing rod and some squid jigs to go fishing for squid up in exmouth in WA
For the 6-8 inch "market squid" I tie 2 or 3 jigs inline (tie the main line to the top of the first jig, then a foot or so of line from the bottom of the first to the top of the next one.) Then about a 2-foot line connecting the bottom of the last jig to the sinker. The sinker size varies with the depth you're fishing, 2 to 6 ounces usually.
When you get the squid on board, just grab the sinker and lift it, turning the jigs over and the squid will fall off the barbless prongs into your bucket.
