Fishing Floats
when a fish has died it either floats or lays down. Why is this so?
One of my gold fish was floating when it died. Another gold fish lay down when it died. Both are the same size, Equally fat when the vet measured the. Then why did thir death become different?
When a fish dies at first all movement stops and will sink. As the gasses build in the dead fish it will float. Fish naturally contain a swim bladder which is filled with air or releaved of air for the fish to swim. If a fish dies when it's air bladder is full, it will float for a while then sink. If the bladder is void of air it will sink immediately until the gasses build up and cause it to float.
