Casting Sinkers
how do I use a sinker for fishing? Every time I cast it i lose my hook,bopper,sinker and my bait.?
Its the type of sinker that is shaped like an egg http://www.greentackle.com/eco-egg-sinkers.html (this is what it looks like) I put the line through the hole and through the other hole and i put the bopper below in an attempt to stop it. When I cast it they end up flying and I lose it. Also How do I keep the bopper and the sinker from falling down to the hook? Please help me Im a novice fisherman.
I am surprised no one even noticed a critical mistake you made. You do not put the sinker above the bobber.
Your basic rig should look something similar to this:

Depending on what kind of bobber you use, you may not need to use a bobber stop. The picture showed the use of a swivel and I suggest you use that. The sliding egg sinker should slide freely between the bobber and the swivel. Some people use small bead or a small piece of rubber tube below the sliding sinker so the sinker won't have any direct contact with your knot. Tie your hook on a separate piece of line called a leader. Then tie your leader with hook on the other end of the swivel.
By the way, if your line kept on snapping during casting you should use lighter sinker or heavier line. Or, you should try gently swing out your rig instead of try to launch everything into the middle of the lake.
PS: A leader should be thinner than your main line. If the unfortunate must happen, your leader should snap before your main line so you won't loose everything.
