Casting Balsa

fishing advice: bobber problems?
so i just started using bobbers for panfish, i noticed that i can cast as far and with a bottom rig or etc, is that normal? and i can keep my line tight or itll just drag the bobber in, is that normal also? and theres like no weight i can put on it, i bought thill bobbers, theyre wighted, but i put two splitshots onn and it just brought the bobber down, so i used a size bigger and it barely manages to stay up should i use a bigger on for more wight? or maybe a different shape? different material? i got the balsa floats about longer than ur middle finger, and about the same width, help plz? oh and im fishing from a dock
the bobber goes under because you have too much weight on it. usually weighted bobbers are used without extra weights. get a bobooer without a weight if you want to use split shots farther down the line. casting with a bobber is always harder than casting without one. its normal for you to be casting shorter.
weighted bobber=no extra weight
weightless bobber= extra weights further down.
