Buzz Bait
The buzz bait is a top water lure isnt it?
someone told me otherwise and im so sure cause i couldnt see mine on top of the water anyway why couldnt i see it on top of the water
A buzz bait is definitely a top water lure. Increase the speed of your retrieve or get a higher gear ratio reel. Keep the rod tip up and pointing towards the lure. Here's a little something all these folks didn't tell ya, you can change the pitch of a buzz bait by simply ( carefully and slightly) bending the blades ( having a 3 or 4 blade buzz bait ) . Leaving it alone creates a normal "plopping "sound. Open the blades a bit and the "plopping "sound gets louder. Close the blades in a bit and the sound is smaller (tighter). Another thing to consider is the size/ weight of the buzz bait. A 1oz. buzz bait may freak fish out but a smaller one may do the trick. Color is also important when it comes to the skirt. If you see shad jumping all around, match the hatch with the skirt as best you can. If fish are short striking, add a stinger hook.
