Bullet style when reloading?
I have data to reload 200 grain Semi Wad Cutter cast .45acp bullets into cartridges... the site I want to order bullets from offers those, but they also offer cast lead round nose.
My question is, does it matter? Are they equally reliable?
I kind of like the round noses.... so, is it OK to use the data for the round nose, since it is the same material and weight?

The way I understand the situation, cast lead bullets and jacketed bullets react differently when fired. The lead compresses more, creates a tighter seal in the barrel thus developing higher pressures than jacketed bullets. That's why cast lead are usually loaded to lower pressures. The reason for the bullet style being listed is more for ballistics data. For instance, a flat nose bullet tends to loose velocity more quickly than a round nose bullet due to increased air resistance. So the reloading data for any cast lead bullet should work regardless of the actual bullet design. As an aside, solid copper bullets seem to function differently that either cast lead or jacketed bullets. I shoot some solid copper and have found that the reloading data supplied by the bullet manufacturers differ from that provided for their jacketed bullets.
